This Week in Wine: Acquiesce Grenache Blanc - 2020

Stay tuned for my post on Texas Wine Country. In the meantime, let me tell you about this wine. One thing I do every time I travel between Texas and Louisiana is stop at my beloved Chuy’s. Yes, they have them in Virginia, but it is NOT THE SAME.

The beauty is I know exactly what I want. I don’t need to ever see a menu. My order is always the Chicken Enchiladas with Tex-Mex sauce. It has not changed in over 25 years since my friend Angie got me hooked on them. I always get an extra side of the creamy jalapeño dip and queso. If you know, you really know. It’s that good. I arrived home from my trip and had to immediately prepare for another trip leaving Friday. Because I cannot get enough of my fave, I actually got two orders so I have one the next day. I know it’s a bit much, but I need my fix.

I wanted a wine that would complement the richness of the Tex-Mex sauce, the savoriness of the meat, refried beans, rice, and definitely work with my concoction of pico de gallo, jalapeño dip, queso, and their homemade salsa. The Grenache Blanc worked. And I mean it paired well.
