In Celebration of Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brecher in Napa Valley

Earlier this month, I was a presenter and a panelist at the fifth Culinary Institute of America’s Summit for Sommeliers and Beverage Professionals in Napa Valley. Before the conference I was lucky to attend the lecture and the dinner in celebration of Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brescher’s work in The Wall Street Journal.

Dorothy and John were my mentors for my 2019 Professional Wine Writers Symposium at Meadowood fellowship. I read most of their WSJ column and it was one of the ways I learned so much about wine. Being able to listen to the talk and laugh with them and my wine friends is still making me smile. The talk also coincided with Open That Bottle Night which they created so we as wine lovers could stop holding on to wine and just drink it.
