If you are you like me you are probably thinking, “Wow! The past six months have flown by. I am beginning to think what the elders say is true. “Time goes faster the older you get.” Remember when you were a kid and it seems like all you wanted to be was older. You wanted to play with the big kids. Then you were tired of elementary and middle and you couldn’t wait to be in high school. My goodness you were practically “grown” by senior year and you knew “college was going to be a breeze.” Then came the real job, real life, bills, and now you are like “please SLOW DOWN.”

With that I decided I wanted to write about the champagnes I have enjoyed over the past few months in my studies. So I’m introducing the...Champagne of the Month. These are the champagnes I buy, not just for study, but because they are delicious. To kick off the start of the series I want to introduce you to what I consider my “house” champagne. This champagne is ALWAYS in my house. If I get low, which to me is less than 3 bottles, I re-up to fill the wine closet. I could say cellar, but let’s be real. It’s a closet. In May, I brought a bottle to toast with the ladies I met at the My Taught You Retreat and we paired it with shrimp tacos. Anything fried is good, but when it comes to the beautiful waters of Cancun it is even better. The family is NICE and like Lou Rawls (Google him), I only want to drink wine from “groovy people.”

Champagne Lallier Grand Cru Brut Rosé is champagne made by groovy people and I want you to add them to your list to try. Maybe they will be your “house” champagne too. Life is too short to drink bad wine and to drink wine made by assholes. If I personally don’t like the person making the wine, I refuse to drink it. Yeah, I said it.
