Wines for a Wine Down

This week’s episode of Insecure called Lowkey Distant was another gem. It speaks to what happens when friendships grow apart due to many factors. It’s life and it happens. I can feel the pressure building up and it is going to go down. Here are my wine picks this week for the show.

Issa. 2016 Theopolis Vinyards Yorkville Highlands Symphony. Issa has come to terms that she likes Condola and will remain her friend although most people are giving her the side-eye about it. So, Issa is doing things differently this year and that is what Symphony is. It’s different, lively, and vibrant. Just like Issa’s block party is going to be. Lit.

Molly. 2017 Hollyhock Lodge No. 3 Gamay Noir. Molly is really trying to get to know Andrew and normally she drinks big wines. I noticed that her wine on this episode was lighter in color. I’m giving Molly this delicious Gamay Noir which is beautiful on the nose and palate, but also is a little different.

Kelly. 2019 Miravel Rosé. If you loved Kelly and all her shenanigans in her getup then you will love this rosé. It’s pure fun in a glass.

Condola. Sandro de Bruno Durello Superiore Monti Lessini. Condola could take this champagne method style sparkling Durello to Ojai. This trip calls for a celebration.

See you next week for another Insecure “wine down” pairing.
