Lowkey Trying: Wines for a Wine Down (S4:E9)

Issa. 2017 Raventós i Blanc de Blancs. Issa loves her Prosseca, but this week I’m giving her Raventós. Raventó i Blanc is part of the breakaway Spanish D.O. (Denominación de Origen) Conca Del Riu Anoia. This wine may be from Spain, but it is not Cava. Issa is at a new crossroads in regards to her relationship with Molly and so should her wine.

Lawrence. NV Vigneau Selection Vouvray Brut Methode Traditionelle. Since Lawrence and Issa are “kicking” it, I believe Lawrence is trying to show Issa the new “Lawrence.” This means showing Issa he can see her hard work and growth and he’s doing the same. This sparkling Chenin Blanc is one of my go-to sparkling wines and it is perfect for any occasion and whatever Lawrence and Issa are doing.

Molly. 2018 Rendardat Rache Bugey Cerdon. Since Molly is trying to do everything NEW in this relationship with Andrew her wine should be reflective of that. Her go-to is always red wine, but I know this wine pairs perfectly wit spicy food, which we know she loves.

Kelly. 2017 Raventós i Blanc de Nit Rosé. I decided to give Kelly, the rosé version of Issa’s wine. Since Issa reached out to Kelly and Kelly decided to honor us with her Spanish voicemail recording, I knew this wine would be a great fit for her.
