UNCORKED Movie on Netflix. Watch with me!

If you have been following me on social media you know I have been riding for UNCORKED Movie on Netflix for awhile. The movie is written and directed by Prentice Penny and it is his first full length film. The movie is the story of one' man’s journey to become a Master Sommelier, played by Mamoudou Athie. This is a wine movie for movie lovers. It doesn’t hit you over the head with wine to make you hate it, but at it’s core the movie is about the relationship between father and son. Courtney B. Vance is the dad at the crossroads in the family business and Niecy Nash places the supportive mother in the middle. Niecy’s role was written exclusively for her. There hasn’t’ been a wine movie that features a predominantly black cast and race is not at the forefront. The movie begins streaming today, Friday, March 27 on Netflix.

The movie mentions a few wines by name and here they are. In order of appearance. The stars are the wines I’ve actually had.
