Weekends with Graham Beck

It’s the weekend, but at this point in time, does it really matter? It seems like the days just keep running together. With the new autumn season, I have decided to try to separate my weekend from my weekdays. It’s hard, especially when you work for yourself. Most of my days seem to run together, but I need to start keeping them separate.

It’s been a hard year. And we need all the luxuries we can get. So let’s start this weekend off with some bubbly. I always say “bubbles bring the party.” And we could all use some joy now. Think of sparkling wine as an everyday beverage that goes with your entire meal. Let it go that bubbles only are for celebrating. You woke up this morning and feel good in your body? Get some bubbles. Now let me tell you about some sparkling wines I can’t wait for you to try.

South African Méthode Cap Classique is the classification of South African wine made made like champagne which means the wine goes through a second fermentation in the bottle to make all those good aromas and flavors happen in the glass. Today, we are talking two delicious sparklers from Graham Beck, located in the Western Cape of South Africa.

Graham Beck Brut. This is popular for a reason. It’s a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir and is like the kickoff party of bubbles on your palate. Think light yeast notes, a/k/a, bread. It’s also the starter of sparkling. You want to have this one as you prepare your meal. It’s the happy hour of bubbles. It is also nicknamed “President’s Choice” because it was served at President Obama’s inauguration and Nelson Mandela’s. Now how cool is that?

Graham Beck Brut Rosé. The Graham Beck Brut is more Chardonnay than Pinot Noir, the Rosé is the opposite. Pinot Noir dominates this blend. I like to think of this wine as the “dinner” wine. This wine can go with vegetarian dishes, pasta, seafood, and my personal favorite - the lovely hamburger. Yes, I love bubbles and burgers. If you have not had that combination, you sincerely need to get involved. Trust me.

So cheers to the weekend. Celebrate What Matters. And guess what YOU matter. So celebrate you.

Tell me, how you plan to celebrate you?
