It’s been a hell of a time. Many of you know, or if you are new to my site, my mother passed away suddenly in late August. Needless to say I am trying to process it all and get to this new normal. The process has been more than just grief, it’s paperwork, accepting I won’t hear her force, trying to continue to do the work I am called in the world of wine and travel, and honor her legacy. I’m grateful for everyone who has reached out, grief counseling, meds, therapy, and the gift of being her daughter.

This year has been busy and this space has lacked my own words because I've been burning the candle at both ends writing for other outlets. I decided to showcase this month's reading list at the first of the month instead of the end. I realized I needed to put my book reading on a schedule this month. This may not work moving forward, but I will let you know. If you use the library to check out e-books you know the dilemma. You put your name on the hold list and then all of a sudden all your books come in at the same time which means you can’t turn the wi-fi on your Kindle because you still haven’t finished the other 3 you downloaded.

The one thing about Instagram I love is finding all the beauty girls. I fell hard for Sarah James of Whoorl years ago. My friend Erika put me on to her. She was then living in California, but now in Oklahoma City so in my mind she’s so close to Texas which makes her a Southern girl to me. I'm hoping to read a least 40 books this year and so far I have already read three and I'm currently on my fourth.
