UITAL Lifestyle Experience: A Weekend In Paris - Day 3

Season Menu

The last free day of my UITAL Lifestyle Experience was a free day. A few people explored the city, Versailles, and shopped in the limited stores open on Sunday. Claire and I decided it was a food day and we would take it slow and eat our way through a few places.

First up Season. I had heard about Season as an alternative to the heavy-laden French food. Fresh food such as kale salads, smoothies, and much more made up a great menu. Season felt like a few places in DC and New York I frequent. We shared a delicious avocado toast with poached eggs and a smoked salmon salad I am still dreaming of. Season is one of the few places that had soy milk to be added to your coffee.

Next up was a quick stop over to see if The Raphael Terrace in Hotel Raphael was open. Unfortunately, it was closed and we made our way to the café across the street for a cup of café crème.

After sitting outside and people watching, my favorite thing to do, we headed to the Ladurée le Bar to meet an old friend. Ladurée is known for the quintessential French dessert macarons, but we weren’t there for those. We headed to le Bar to sip rosé and indulge in a strawberry Napoleon. We paired this lovely concoction with Billecart-Salmon’s rosé. After my friend Corey arrived and we chatted for hours we decided we needed more food.

L’Avant Comptoir is located in the stylish Saint Germain area and sitting outside eating foie gras and escargot is the perfect way to spend a Parisian sunny Sunday. I was hoping for a glimpse of the fabulous Ina Garten (The Barefoot Contessa) who has an apartment in Paris in the same area and was in Paris too. I can keep dreaming.

We left L’Avant and crossed the straight, literally to see at Café du Flore to have a cocktail before our last meal in Paris and for more people watching. Café du Flore is a Paris legacy. It’s a place you spend hours just watching people. I usually only have a Negroni cocktail in Paris.

We finished the day with dinner at the Michelin star restaurant Benoit, an Alain Ducasse restaurant.  My DC friend who happened to be in town joined us and there was much laughter, champagne, wine, and the most fabulous duck I’ve ever tasted.

I always like to say America is my country and Paris is my home. Every time I visit I fall head over heels in love again. I can’t wait to return.
