How I Curated My Daily Makeup Routine

Curated Beauty Routine

I've always been a skincare junkie. I can have a 10-step skincare routine every night, but please don't ask me to apply more than 5 makeup items on my face each day. After reading Marie Kondo's book last year. And if you haven't read it, where have you been? It made me not only clean my wardrobe but my beauty arsenal. I'm shocked at some of the restraint I currently have in Sephora and Neiman Marcus. For the past few weeks, the following have been in my strict beauty rotation.

Jay Manuel Soft Focus Blush in Tease. So beautiful. So pigmented. So lovely.

Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara. Last year I decided that I needed to stick to a mascara that works. I was going through a few mascaras a month that didn't work for me. My lashes are thanking me.

Bobbi Brown Skin Nourish Mask. My skin has needed all the love and nourishment over the past few months and this Bobbi mask has been a lifesaver. This is one of those products that made be a Bobbi girl again because I kind of fell of the Bobbi wagon.

Dolce & Gabbana Beauty Classic Cream Lipstick in Scarlett. I didn't want to love this Dolce & Gabbana lipstick as much as I have over the past few years. I have always tried to find something new to replace it, but nothing held up. The colors were wrong, the pigmentation was lacking, and I was settling. Settling for a lipstick I didn't love. Guess what I did. I stopped settling. Just like in life. A crappy lipstick is like a crappy boyfriend. In the end, you know what you want and settling won't make you happy. I decided until I found another creamy, sexy, and beautiful lipstick that could make my beauty-girl heart swoon I'm sticking with Scarlett. She has never let me down and those substitutes just won't do.

Ain't nothing like the real thing baby! Be it a man or a lipstick.
